Nestled in the heart of Petaluma at 143 Petaluma Blvd N, Della Fattoria Downtown Café is a celebrated gem that effortlessly combines the warmth of a neighborhood bakery with the refinement of a breakfast and brunch destination. Specializing in artisanal breads and a thoughtfully curated menu, this café elevates classic morning and midday fare with a Sonoma County twist that's both comforting and exciting.
From the moment you step inside, the ambiance strikes a beautiful balance between lively and laid-back. The space buzzes with energy yet remains invitingly intimate, allowing for easy conversation—an aspect many patrons, like Jim Ratchford, have praised alongside the welcoming, joyful service that truly enhances the overall dining experience. It’s clear that every detail, from the warm lighting to the attentive servers, shapes a memorable visit.
At the core of Della Fattoria’s offering is an impressive bakery selection featuring house favorites such as the Lemon Rosemary Bread, buttery Croissants, and the fluffy, cloud-like Blueberry Cloud. Their inventive beverage menu is equally enticing, highlighted by the subtle floral notes of the Honey Lavender Latte and the spicy charm of the House Made Chai Latte. These drinks pair perfectly with savory dishes like the indulgent Eggs Benedict, crafted with Caggiano ham and rich hollandaise, and the satisfying Corned Beef Hash—a hearty choice that delights in every bite.
For those seeking something fresh and vibrant, the selection of salads is not to be missed. The Stacy’s Breakfast Salad impresses with mixed greens, perfectly poached eggs, creamy avocado, and a zesty citronette. Meanwhile, the Panzanella Salad offers a complex flavor journey with its blend of baby spinach, sweet butternut squash, crispy apple and bacon, all brought together by a house-made apple balsamic dressing.
Unique dishes like the Salmon Egg Tapenade and the Tuna Melt, which John Rodgers celebrates for its creativity and robust flavors, showcase Della Fattoria’s commitment to blending traditional breakfast elements with unexpected, sophisticated touches. The café’s ability to cater to families is equally notable, as seen in reviews such as Vivian “Vivventure” Wayfarer’s, where attentive service transformed a bustling Saturday morning into a relaxed, enjoyable affair for all ages.
Breakfast lovers will also appreciate the “on toast” selections which marry artisanal bread with thoughtful toppings: from the creamy, tangy Bean Toast boasting pureed flageolet beans and Kalamata olives, to the simple, elegant avocado on buttered toast. For a decadent treat, the Ricotta Toast topped with banana, toasted pecans, and honey is poetry on a plate.
Though some may note the premium pricing, the richness of flavors, quality of ingredients, and the inviting atmosphere justify the indulgence. Whether you're greeting the day with a meticulously crafted latte or savoring a leisurely brunch with perfectly balanced dishes, Della Fattoria Downtown Café delivers an experience that feels both artisan-crafted and warmly familiar—a place where food and community harmonize wonderfully.
For those craving a blend of innovation and comfort in breakfast and lunch cuisine, coupled with a bakery that’s worthy of its own pilgrimage, Della Fattoria provides a lovingly curated menu paired with an atmosphere that invites you to linger and savor every moment.
Just breakfast? Nope! Much better. A fantastic menu. Atmosphere that is wonderful. Lots of guests and it wasn't loud. We were able to have a normal conversation. Our server was the best. She added to our experience. Joyful and fun. But wait, there's more. Our plates were full and the quality was impressive. Flavors were dreamy. It was a little expensive. Still, you can't have a high standard for free. Our visit was worth it. And, we will certainly be back.
Service was great. My friend who’s local brought me here this morning and loved it. The server recommended the new seasonal tostada, so we both ordered it. 10/10 perfect breakfast this morning!
A star on the Petaluma BLVD this cafe which is larger than. It seems is larger than life!!! it truly breathtaking atmosphere is celebrating Sonoma County to its fullest!! I walked in and got a single seat immediately at the bar. I ordered the Tuna Piadina - A Classic Tuna Melt on Pan Fried Pizza Dough, Cheddar Cheese, Peperoncino, Arugula, Citronette Dressing. Wonderful wonderful wonderful robustly flavored sandwich. A little too salty but not much. I also got a Bloody Mary what came with a prawn and was very well balanced! All in all I highly recommend this establishment.
Stopped in on a Saturday morning in the summer as a family of five. The area was lively and bustling. We were seated in the side room and taken care of by Grace (who deserves a shout out for being patient with us as well as kind to our grumpy toddler, enriching the overall experience). We ordered an array of dishes: from the Della Bunwich, the Della Scramble, the standard Egg Breakfast, and the toast topped with smoked salmon. We also accompanied our meals with honey lavender lattes, a golden tumeric latte as well as a rooibos tea. All the flavors were great and just what we needed to kick off the day. The bread tasted fresh and the sausage and eggs were well seasoned and mixed well with each other. I should say that the golden tumeric latte was a very unique flavor, an earthy, healthy tasting drink that might not be for everyone but complemented the food really well. The toddler also picked up a chocolate croissant that she devoured, so likely very good as well!
Very unique experience at Della Fattoria. My husband said “I don’t like it, I do want to share a table” but I told him, they are still getting 5 stars from me!! :) we both liked our meal and our server was very personable. I didn’t catch his name. I would definitely eat here again!
Great atmosphere! Great coffee: organic from Petaluma Coffee Company. I got a breve served up in a beautiful large ceramic bowl. Love it! Eggs Benedict was served up very quickly. Good quality, sizable portion, subtle flavors.
Della Fattoria Café in Petaluma is an absolute gem! I stopped by on Monday with my daughter and we were instantly greeted the staff and the atmosphere is super friendly. We ordered an iced coffee and shared a strawberry cream puff pastry—both were amazing. The pastry was flaky, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet, and the coffee was perfection. A perfect little treat in downtown Petaluma. Can’t wait to go back!
